Perito Moreno Glacier



Greeted by the sun as we arrive in Argentine Patagonia.



Horses roam all over Patagonia, eventually rounded up by the areas cowboys



The approach to the Perito Moreno glacier, one of only a few advancing glaciers





The glacier is 17km deep, 5km wide and the front face varies between 50m and 80m above sea level.













Huge sheets of ice break off the glacier at regular intervals with a defeaning crack. To the right of this picture is a ferry which puts into context the sheer size of the glacier.
