Inti Raymi

Inti Raymi is Cusco´s biggest festival. It marks the cities birthday and as being the capital of the Inca world, its residents recreate the traditional Inti Raymi celebrations. This basically entails bearing gifts and paying homage to the sun gods. The procession walks up to some local ruins called Saqaywaman (sexy woman) and slaughter a llama (a black one, the racists!) and cut its heart out holding it up as a gift to the gods!
