Amantani

The Island of Amantani is the largest in Lake Titicaca, where ¨living off the land¨couldnt be more true, All meals are produced from crops theyve grown and meat they have reared. All of the houses are made from mud bricks which whole generations from the young children to the grandmothers have a hand in making. All of the textiles such as rugs and hats are produced by the local women, and of course we bought lots! We stayed with a family for the night, who dressed us in traditional clothes for the evenings fiesta! Definately one of the highlights of our trip.
